Where can I get the MenuManager app?

You can download the Baxter MenuManager App for free from the App Store or Google Play Store.

How do I get started with MenuManager?

Before using Baxter's MenuManager, you must create an account in Baxter SmartConnect. Once an account has been created, you may connect your Baxter Rack Ovens to your profile. This process can be found here.

With your SmartConnect account created and equipment registered, you're ready to use the MenuManager.

As an overview, the MenuManager is used to send custom recipes to the Baxter Rack Ovens you've registered in SmartConnect.

Which machines can be connected to MenuManager?

The following Baxter Rack Ovens can be connected to MenuManager with built-in WiFi:

  • OV520 Series (all models)
  • OV320 Series (all models)

This list will be updated as additional models become available.

How much does MenuManager cost?

From the day of delivery of your machine from the Baxter factory, Baxter shall make available MenuManager and all related functions for your use free of charge and for 5 years (coupled to the machine's unique serial number). After this 5-year period, the free usage period ends automatically. There are no further costs for you. Baxter or your retailer will contact you prior to the expiry of these 5 years with regard to a term extension.

You can download the MenuManager app for free from the Android or iOS Store.

It is possible that you may incur costs for Internet use pursuant to the rate of your Internet provider.

GETTING CONNECTED

How do I register an account?

The account you created for SmartConnect is also used by the MenuManager app. Creating a SmartConnect account is easy.

  1. Open the SmartConnect app and tap on Register.
  2. Provide your information, including an email and password.
  3. Tap Create.
  4. Read and agree to the End User License Agreement and Privacy Policy. Tap Confirm when you are done.

You are now ready to use the app.

 

If you try to register an account and get a blank screen on iOS, you may need to clear your cache and cookies. To do this:

  1. Open "Settings" and tap on "Safari".
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap on "Advanced".
  3. Tap "Website Data".

Scroll to the bottom and tap on "Remove All Website Data".

How do I delete my account?

If you wish to delete your SmartConnect user account:

  1. Tap on the User icon at the top.
  2. Tap on the Settings icon.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap on Further Settings.
  4. Tap on Delete and confirm the account deletion.

Your account has now been deleted and your personal information will be removed from the ITW Cloud.

What if I forget my password?

If you have forgotten your password, or want to generate a new one, tap on Forgot Your Password and follow the instructions on screen to create a new one.

Will my machine still run if it won’t connect to WiFi or pair with the app?

Yes. The functions of MenuManager and the installed WiFi module do not affect the functionality of your Rack Oven.

You may create custom recipes on the Oven's SmartTouch controller whenever necessary.

USING THE APP

How do I change the settings and preferences for MenuManager?

To enter settings and change your account preferences, tap on the User icon at the top, then tap on the Settings icon.

These settings can be configured in SmartConnect or the MenuManager, and will apply to the account that is used by both apps. Drop-down menus are available to select your preferences for:

  • Language
  • Units of Measure (Metric or Imperial volumes, and temperatures in Celsius or Fahrenheit)
  • Time & Date Format
  • Currency Format
  • Utility & Chemical Costs

Global cost settings are entered here for water, energy and gas for all machines in the app. Cost settings can also be set for individual machines in the Cost page.

How do I create a recipe?

Creating a custom recipe in Baxter's MenuManager is simple.

  1. Open the MenuManager app and tap on +.
  2. Give the recipe a descriptive name (for example, Pretzel Bun).
  3. Choose the Equipment type using the "Compatible Machine Family" dropdown menu (for Baxter Rack Ovens, select Rack Oven).
  4. Upload a descriptive image using the Upload button near the Machine Family dropdown (selected image must be < 5Kb in size).
  5. Click the +ADD STEP button to create the first step of your recipe.
  6. Set the desired temperature using the Slider Bar or by typing into the input field. (In Fahrenheit, you may select temperatures in 5° increments).
  7. Set the duration of the first step (Maximum 03:59 hh:mm per step).
  8. Select the desired Fan Delay for the first step of the recipe (Fan Delay allows the recipe to run while keeping the circulation fan turned off for the desired time).
  9. Use the Vent Status buttons to set the vent to OPENED or CLOSED for the first step of the recipe.
  10. Choose the desired Steam Mode. In BURST mode, you may select a specific duration (in seconds) for a one-time burst of steam. In PULSE mode, the Oven will inject steam for X seconds every Y minutes during the current step of the recipe.
  11. For multi-step recipes, select +ADD STEP and repeat steps 5 through 9.
  12. Click or Hover on the dotted Icon and select Save.
  13. If you're ready to upload this recipe to your Rack Oven, Click or Hover on the dotted icon and select Upload.
  14. Alternatively, you may select the Pencil icon to edit the recipe.
  15. In the next screen, you'll see a list of the Rack Ovens you've registered in your SmartConnect account.
  16. Equipment that is currently powered on and connected to the internet will show Black text, while disconnected equipment will show Gray text.
  17. Select any Rack Oven, or multiple, and press the Upload button.
  18. A yellow loading icon will appear until the upload is successful, then a Green checkmark will appear.
  19. On your Rack Oven, navigate to the "Toolbox" screen and your recipe will begin importing within 30 seconds.
  20. After the Import message has disappeared, you will find your recipe in the "Personal" tab on the Auto page.

Why is my recipe failing to upload?

Before sending recipes to a Rack Oven, you must ensure it has been registered in your SmartConnect account and is connected to WiFi.

If the oven has a stable connection to WiFi and is registered in your SmartConnect fleet, the issue is likely not related to the connection.

If this is the case, verify the recipe you are trying to upload has a valid name and was created for the correct machine type. For Baxter Rack Ovens, you must select Rack Oven from the Compatible Machine Family dropdown. This can simply be fixed by editing the recipe.

If neither of the above causes are relevant, ensure the image you've attached to the recipe is < 5 Kb in size. This can be checked in the image's properties or your filesystem. If the image is larger than 5 Kb, the recipe will fail to upload to a machine. If this is the issue, you may make it "smaller on the disk" by compression, cropping or degrading the quality. If these are not options, you may upload a smaller image.

During periods of frequent data transfer, a recipe may fail to upload. Try again within a few minutes if neither of the above issues are relevant.
